There is no doubt that Great Britain has made a mark on the world. From meager origins in Celtic times and the Roman invasions Britain has grown in some ways as a beacon of civilization in a savage world into a dominant superpower with colonies around the globe. This is the culture that gave the world the ideas of common law, Magna Carta, Milton and Shakespeare, fish and chips, and bulldogs. Well, maybe not bulldogs, but Great Britain has been through a long and storied history that is steeped in legends and traditions that span centuries. Today, with her pageant of landmarks, castles, and palaces, as well as museums and other treasures, Britain has also set standards of economic trade and philosophy, having established, among other things, English as the global language of business and science that could well prove to be so in the centuries to come. That’s a lot for a British gentleman to be proud of and there’s nothing wrong with wearing that pride for all to see. A tall man needs all the additional length that they can get. Sometimes, your height becomes your asset but in most times, they don’t do you any good. Aristotle believes that everything should be in moderation. He is probably right.
Being tall, we used to think, is always better because you are being looked up to in a pedestal. There is that illusion of respect when everyone who speaks to you seems to be lifting their heads. You are literally stooping down to their level every time you speak to shorter people.
